As soon as the first blossom appeared on the cherry trees the challenge became to bring a brighter, lighter quality to the surface. The images show the first signs of spring how the branches on the trees begin to distort and grow nodules, like swollen finger joints. Buds begin to form, and then a burst of blossom, transient and delicate sets itself in contrast to the harshness of city structures.
Summer scenes centre on aspects of dappled light through leafy trees and on depictions of buddleia plants growing vigorously in the unloved and abandoned areas.
